How To Become A Great Leader

Great Leadership Equals Success in Direct Sales
Before you can be successful in direct sales, you must first learn and adopt the personality traits of a leader. To do this you’ll need
to assess your leadership skills, in order to determine where you stand, by taking a deep look inside yourself. Leader traits can be
learned by anyone with a burning desire and access to a public library. Leadership is a constant learning experience and you must be
teachable at all times. A successful leader will have a positive attitude, belief, self-discipline, desire, determination, effort,
persistence, patience and focus.
Belief
Do you believe, with out a doubt, that you deserve the very best that life has to offer? Do you believe that you have what it takes to
reach your dreams? Wanting success and believing it’s possible are two very different things. Most people want more than they already
have but make little or no attempt to reach their dreams because they don’t actually believe that it’s possible. Those who believe in
themselves and believe success is possible keep moving forward no matter how tuff things get. Belief can carry you through every
seemingly impossible moment; it’s your foundation. What you believe is true, is very true; what you believe isn’t true, really isn’t.
You must believe that you have what it takes to run a million dollar company or you will never have more than a side venture.
Self-Discipline
Lack of self discipline will hold you back from reaching your full potential. Self discipline is doing what needs to get done even
when you don’t feel like it. Self discipline is doing what needs to get done even when no one is paying attention. Self discipline is
getting work done even when your house is messy. Self discipline is scheduling your day instead of your day scheduling you. Self
discipline is going outside of your comfort zone regardless of your fears and self talk. Self discipline is staying consistent and on
track even when life blindsides you. Self discipline is the opposite of procrastination.
Passion And Desire
How deep is your desire to change your current situation? Is it deep enough to keep you moving? Your desire will need to fuel your
fire when your flames are burning out. How passionate are you about your products? If you don’t, with out a doubt, love your products
then your customers won’t either. Your desire and passion or lack there of will shine through. If your desire is huge; you will have
huge results. If your desire is weak; you will have weak results.
Determination
How determined are you to finish what you start? Do you loose interest easily? Do you give up easily? If so, you may not have
enough determination. Just wanting to change is not enough; you must be determined. People who are determined to reach their goals
will fall down 1,000 times and get up 1,001 times. Determination gives you the strength to keep getting up.
Effort, Persistence, And Patience
Dreams work when we work and not a minute before. Making an effort is doing more than is expected of you and more than you thought
you could do. When the going gets tough, one must keep going, and persistence will be your light. Without patience one will give up
before he/she reaches their goal and quit possible just before success would have shown its face. When nothing seems to be working a
little more patience and a little more effort could be the difference between failure and a glorious win.
Successful people do what average people won’t; therefore successful people get what average people want. Our society today is
obsessed with instant gratification. If you are one of these people, you will need to adjust your thinking; no business will give you
instant gratification at the starting line. A successful business is a result of consistent effort, persistence and patience.
Focus
Are you truly focused on your goals and your plan? Do you have a plan? Do you wake up everyday knowing exactly what you’re going to
do for your business that day? Focus starts with truly identifying your goals and putting them on paper. Your plan should be a series of
small goals leading to your ultimate goal. Focus is not a once a week or once a month component, it’s a daily necessity to running your
own business.
