Title
The Monkey Doos, 2006

Did you know there’s a fun way to harness the energy of toddlers and teach them something fun in the process? Are you tired of using the television as a babysitter while you clean and cook—feeling guilty because your children aren’t getting the physical activity they need to stay healthy?

Thanks to The Monkey Doos series your children not only learn to have fun, but each episode in the series is designed to stop childhood obesity by helping children between the ages of 2 and 5 get active.

Not only do the movements help children burn energy (and calories), but by following along your children learn to strengthen their muscles, balance their bodies, and become more limber through stretching—and they won’t even know they’re doing it! And as they follow along, your children develop gross motor skills, become better coordinated, and learn to follow directions!

And what parents don’t want their children to become better listeners?

By asking your children to follow along with Maureen Straub, the children, and the monkeys (Flip, Tumble and Twist) in the video, your children learn the importance of listening and following directions. They also learn how to get their little bodies to do what their minds tell them to do—which isn’t always easy when you’re a toddler.

In this particular episode, your children learn about twelve different vehicles, such as a hot air balloon, airplanes, pogo sticks, and boats. But instead of actually seeing the vehicles, they must use their imaginations. And thanks to the activities section, your children learn to make a healthy, fun eatable airplane—made of bananas, peanut butter, and graham crackers. They’ll also learn how to make a paper helicopter with nothing more than a piece of paper and a paper clip.

Ready to get your kids active?
