F Troop: O'Rourke and Agarn

Review
F Troop is a hilarious sitcom filled with silly antics, ridiculous incidents, and cornball gags. It’s one of those series that requires very little brainwork and offers just the right dose of humor to lift anyone’s spirit.

The show centers around Sergeant Morgan O’Rourke and Corporal Randolph Agarn’s get-rich-schemes but includes many side stories of Wrangler Jane’s attempts to snatch the man of her dreams: Captain Wilton Parmenter.

Captain Parmenter often seems oblivious to Jane’s true feelings as he concentrates on securing Fort Courage. He also seems like an unlikely commander, but despite his naivety he manages to keep the peace and keep his troops in line.

Wrangler Jane on the other hand is a beautiful tomboy who often forgets how much of a woman she really is. Her relentless pursuit of Captain Parmenter has everyone wondering if she’ll ever slow down long enough for him to make the next move.

When it comes to O’Rourke and Agarn’s schemes, one can’t help but think about today’s get-rich-quick schemes. In the past, trying to convince people to give up their hard-earned money in exchange for some hopeless cause took ingenuity, trickery, and even a bit of “acting”. Today, those schemes often come in the form of slick advertising copy and personal emails made to look like friendships.

If you’ve ever thought those get-rich-schemes were worth a second look, this series will have you seriously reconsidering. No matter how hard O’Rourke and Agarn plot and scheme and work in hopes of making it big, they never succeed. Even if a scheme brings in a little bit of cash, it’s never enough to cover the sweat equity put into each endeavor. And the irony of it all? They don’t need to scheme to succeed, they already run two successful businesses on the side: the local saloon and the Indian Souvenir Company.

Your Task
Gather up your teenagers. Put in your copy of F Troop. Watch a few series staring Wrangler Jane. Then ask your teenagers why Jane could never get Captain Wilton Parmenter to ask for her hand in marriage. It’s truly the perfect opportunity to discuss the right and wrong ways to court your future mate.
