2009 EDITORIAL CALENDAR
ARTICLE NEEDS
Right now we are focusing on the small business section. So many women and men are having a difficult time with this economy that they’ve turned to starting small businesses on the side to try to salvage the income they’ve lost from cut backs, lay offs, and loss of savings. We’re trying to provide them with a safe place to find information so they don’t get scammed.

If you can help grow this section, by donating an article or querying us regarding a paying article, we'd be much obliged! We are especially interested in donated articles from "experts" in fields that can help small businesses grow―however, we don't want the same content you've distributed to article directories.

STAY ON TARGET
If you submit an article or query letter, that is not what we're looking for, we're simply going to decline it. So please take the time to read our editorial calendar below. Also, keep in mind that we DO NOT want articles that are general in nature. We are looking for specifics. We want you to take a single idea and build upon that idea. Tell us how to take your idea and run with it; in other words, tell us how we can get from point A to point B. Don't leave us second-guessing or asking, "So what's the next step?"

    Anytime During The Year
We'll be accepting one new article per month in this section.

  • Family Night With Teens:
Whether you set aside an evening a week or once a month, the important thing is that you're spending time with your children. Family nights offer you a chance to bond and laugh with your children. Through fun activities, your children learn to open up and share what's on their minds and in their hearts. Through these fun interactions, you'll get a true glimpse of who your child really is, and learn to enjoy life more. Please see similar stories/how-tos we've accepted here.

  • Fit Families: Physical activity doesn’t have to cost a fortune
People have forgotten what it means to be active. We spend far too much time in front of the television set playing video games or watching movies and even more time in front of computer screens playing games, chatting, researching, reading, and watching. Add to that the fact that many modern conveniences make it much easier to “be lazy”, we’ve lost sight of bonding through physical activities. What is the importance of getting fit physically? How does it help our mentality? How does it help our families? How does it help our job performances? How does it help end feelings of isolation and loneliness? And what types of activities can a family do without breaking the bank? Without having to go to the gym or buy expensive “toys”?

  • Marriage Savers:
Articles designed to save troubled marriages, build stronger marriages, and make happy marriages happier. Articles about love, honor, and respecting each other whether times are good or times are bad. Articles about compromise, give and take, forgiveness, and personal, spiritual, and couple growth.

  • Writing For The Web:
Web publications differ dramatically from print publications in layout, design, and readability. Writers looking to pursue careers as content writers or copywriters for the Internet need to understand these differences. They need to know how to write with keywords and key phrases in mind. They need to write articles for easy scanning. They need to write articles that help sell products and services.

  • Business Ideas: Pick a business idea from this list and write a how-to article. Write in a conversational style and avoid simple bullet-point lists. Don't just reiterate what's already been said online. We want fresh content. Add a new twist to an old idea.

    Specified Times During The Year
We'll be accepting 2-4 articles per month in this section.

  • January - Direct Sales: we're specifically looking for articles on how to choose the right direct sales company for your lifestyle.

  • February - Search Engines: how to use keywords to drive traffic naturally, how to use search engines to find what clients/customers are looking for, writing content for customers then search engines, etc.

  • March - Blogging: what it is, why it works, how to use it effectively, what not to do with it, etc.

  • April - Building An Internet Presence: how to get started, how it works, what doesn't work, specific campaigns to try, etc.

  • May - Your Own Backyard: finding and keeping business in your very own backyard

  • June - Social Networking: what it is, how it works, using it as a viral tool or to build name recognition or to find clients, etc.

  • July - Business Partnerships: when to look for one, how to find one, caveats, contracts, shared responsibilities, etc.

  • August - Holiday Marketing Tips: when to start, details of specific holiday marketing campaigns, what works, what doesn't, etc.

  • September - Business Plans: what they are, what they entail, how they work, how to use them, why it's okay to change them, etc.

  • October - Customer Service: what makes good customer service, what makes for poor customer service, how timely replies build business, etc.

  • November - Building An Online Magazine: what it is, how it works, how to make it profitable, how to build traffic/readers, etc.

  • December - Shipping Products: how to package materials, how to price products for shipment, setting up a shipping area/procedures, where to find shipping materials, choosing a delivery service, etc.
Read our Writers Guidelines very carefully and follow our instructions to the tee. And remember, we do not publish "duplicate" content so check out the center you're interested in writing for to make sure we haven't already accepted a similar idea.
